"RebbeSoul crafts an energetic sound... packs an eclectic armament... for Jewish and Arabic music... RebbeSoul forges a danceable fusion." - Popmatters
"An interesting fusion of traditional and contemporary sounds and instruments, the tracks vary considerably but the CD has a definite dance groove. The arrangements are well constructed and transitions are smooth despite occasional quite disparate sounds. Instruments and sounds range from digital programming, electric guitars, mandolins and traditional percussion instruments among others. Although this CD ranges from exuberant to quite mellow it presents a definite dance groove. The diverse and creative combination of instruments and technology works to produce a range of grooves to move your body and your emotions. Recorded in the US with remote recordings on location in Egypt and Israel, the production is clean and smooth with really good arrangements. Track 5 Shalom has an uplifting, anthem feel, a real celebration. But the stand-out tracks for me are the ones that feature the traditional instruments like the rek on track 6 Esa Enai with its easy transition into rap vocals and electric guitar and back again. Track 3 balances the elements of traditional instruments and Kaddish prayers very pleasingly with digital programming. Track 7 Shmelke's Nigun is very dynamic combining a fast traditional Middle Eastern rhythm with a modern Arabic disco feel. Great for dancing!
Some of the tracks tend to be a bit new age, notably track 11. While the dialogue on this track Reincarnation of a Melody is agreeable enough it is not something I would like to listen to repeatedly. I really like the mood shifts in this recording, moody, trance, celebratory, combined with the diverse instrumentation RebbeSoul have created a CD definitely worth listening to." Sonya Manzalini, "Dance of Life" 2005
"Soulful mission: RebbeSoul dedicates his long-awaited CD, Change the World With a Sound, to peace in the Middle East and throughout the world. This fusion of traditional Hebrew melodies and rock makes for a stylish Middle-Eastern groove."- Halifax Herald
"A thick and soupy blend of Middle-Eastern percussion, growling rock guitar, plucked balalaika and funk bass that builds to a perfect simmer." - Splendid
