Canadian born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, David Hickey has long had a love for music and crystals. After being introduced to his first crystal bowl in 2002 he began to assemble his own set which now includes over 30 different crystal tones. He plays these bowls in combination with vocals, Tibetan bowls, oriental wind gongs, chimes and various drums to create beautiful meditative and healing music. There is no stronger modality then music and sound. Music is organized sound, and almost all cultures use music therapeutically through mantras, chants, acoustics, instruments, dance, and the human voice. Listening to harmonious sounds like that of the crystal bowls, has a profound affect on our cardiovascular, autonomic, neuropeptide, endocrine and immune systems. The goal of music therapy is to decrease stress and pain, promote deep relaxation, improve learning, clarify personal values, develop self-awareness and to develop creativity.

Crystal Journey was released in 2004 and comprises four medium length tracks of pure tonalities to heal and relax you.

Quartz Crystal - Crystals are fossilized water. When silica sand and water are combined under certain conditions of pressure, temperature and energy, crystals are formed. Quartz Crystal is known to amplify, transform, store, focus, and transfer energy; and is found in such common objects as microphones, radio, television, time pieces, laser tools, and computers. The human body is crystalline in structure, which leads to the crystals having a profound effect on our organs, tissues, cells, circulatory, endocrine, and metabolic systems. The bowls are made of 99.992% crushed quartz crystal that is heated to 4000 degrees in a centrifugal mold. The thickness of the bowl determines the note, digitally tuned to C D E F G A and B corresponding to the charkas, our energy centers; root (C), sacral (D), solar plexus (E), heart (F), throat (G), third eye (A), and crown (B). The diameter of the bowl determines the pitch, ranging from 6 inches to 22 inches.
