Mostly Folk on Hobart -96.1 FM

Mostly Folk is a weekly show of two hours, with alternating presenters for each week. From 3rd Jan 2006, each 2 weeks the show has been presented by Malcolm Fielding, who is also the manager of indie-cds.com. On the alternate fortnights the show is presented by Erin Collins. The station covers the Hobart general area to a radius of about 40km. The show can also be heard on the internet by clicking on the link here for www.hobartfm.org.au The show goes to air at 19.00 Australian Eastern Time on Tuesdays.

This programme features a wide selection of folk, roots, world and acoustic music. There are no strict boundaries, but we like to play music that is either traditional music (from many different traditions) or has its roots in folk music in a broad sense or a strong connection with it. So you'll hear Irish trad bands, klezmer music, English folk song, occasional blues artists, maybe some country and bluegrass, balkan dance bands, Andean flute music, Spanish bagpipe tunes, Breton dance music, Prince Edward Island fiddlers and more!.
